Boston (January 24, 2022) – Baystate Financial, one of the largest and fastest-growing financial services firms in the Northeast, today announced it has expanded its executive leadership team from three to five partners with the appointments of decorated industry leader Stephanie Rivas, and career-long company veteran Bryan Morrell. Rivas and Morrell join a seasoned leadership team that has consisted of Managing Partner Dave Porter (25-year tenure), Partner Mike Yoken (20 years) and Partner Greg Meahl (10 years).
Ms. Rivas joins Baystate from Prudential’s New York Financial Group. Her firm was the first female led organization in Prudential’s 140-year history to win the trophy for being the No. 1 office in the company. Ms. Rivas has set performance records, including doubling the firm’s revenue in her first four years, and breaking down barriers for young professionals, especially women in financial services. The recipient of many industry accolades and awards, she is a dedicated mentor and sought-after keynote speaker. At Baystate, she will focus on recruiting, advisor, and business development.
Promoted from within, Mr. Morrell has spent his entire career at Baystate Financial. Joining as a college intern from Bryant University, he has risen through the ranks by establishing himself as an innovator willing to tackle any challenge. He helped launch and then manage the firm’s sales desk in 2009 and led the financial planning department in 2014. He added leadership of the new business operations team in 2017 and is also brokerage director overseeing Baystate’s nontraditional distribution channels. In his new role, his focus expands across the company and will be all about ease of doing business at the firm and with the firm.
“We have added Stephanie and Bryan to the leadership team to ensure Baystate Financial builds on the growth we’ve enjoyed over the last 25 years and stays ahead of trends and demands in our marketplace going forward,” said Dave Porter, Managing Partner of Baystate Financial. “Stephanie and Bryan bring a fresh perspective and welcome injection of energy and enthusiasm to our leadership team as we look forward in a changing world. Their addition will enable our two other partners to focus more of their time working directly with advisors to grow their practices and Baystate’s footprint, especially as we advance our expansion into Florida.”
When Porter took over Baystate Financial in 1996, it was a small regional firm with a few hundred million dollars in client assets under management. Since that time, Baystate’s focus has shifted from selling financial products to working closely with clients on short- and long-term financial planning goals. Financial planners and advisors at Baystate take an agnostic approach for clients that includes understanding objectives, developing and implementing individualized plans, and then servicing and updating those plans as client needs evolve and advance through different phases of their lives.
Today, backed by a support and planning infrastructure unrivaled in financial services, and a network of offices across the Northeast and most recently Florida, Baystate manages billions of dollars in assets for its clients*.
